Excuse me for being a little slow on the uptake here, but how gorgeous is Adele’s Rolling In The Deep music video?
I can’t pin down what I love about it more – the location, the set styling, the cinematography, or her amazing voice.
One thing I do know: I am borrowing the idea of taping a folded-then-flattened sheet of paper haphazardly to the wall over my bed. Don’t worry, the irony of a letterpress printer wanting to sleep under a sheet of textured paper hasn’t been lost on me.
Wherever it is they filmed this needs to be my next address. I can’t get enough of the dark rooms with ornate detailing. Those ceilings!
This sequence was just mesmerizing, wasn’t it?
Actually, it all was.
I need to think of a way to translate this into an invitation suite – something primarily baroque with dark and rich textures, but also with pops of modern deconstructed detailing. Here’s a mood board I put together as a way to focus my thoughts.
Now that I think about it, the contrast of ornate and unfinished just about sums up the overall aesthetic I seem to always be drawn to. Maybe this inspiration board needs to be dog-eared for my own wedding invitations…at least that way I can tell people I’ve gotten started on something.
