weekend wandering: popsicles

July 21, 2012

A couple days ago, I popped into Daiso (a Japanese $2 store) for something and made eye contact with a set of popsicle molds. Unfortunately, my too-practical other half caught me inspecting my find, and immediately pointed out that I’d probably never use them – did I even have a popsicle recipe I wanted to try?

No, I didn’t. And since our kitchen does contain several contraptions I’ve bought and never used, I did the smart thing and put them back.

But I’m stubborn. And, after a few days of thinking, better prepared! So here are some fun popsicle recipes I’ve rounded up that I’m dying to try this summer.

First off, the dairy free Roasted Peaches and Coconut Cream popsicles in the picture.

I’d never have thought about putting basil into my Strawberry Popsicles!

Summer fruit popsicles with a Twist. By which I mean alcohol.

The prettiest popsicles ever – Roasted Berry and Honey Yogurt.

Dinky $2 molds = perfect portion size for Vietnamese Coffee Popsicles

I’m definitely making these Nutella popsicles.

Mint and chocolate and cheesecake? These are going to be the death of me.

And finally, I think we should toast this post with some Blackberry Prosecco Popsicles!

If you have popsicle molds, this is the sign you were waiting for to put them to some good use. If you don’t have popsicle molds…well, I’ll see you at Daiso!
