easy and free

December 9, 2010

Despite my affinity for baking, I have a mild phobia of pie-making. I don’t know why, but pie crust making always seems so tricky and daunting, and I hate that almost every recipe takes a very “Or Else” tone with the directions. Not helping.

Then I found this, and though I haven’t tried it yet I’m pretty sure it’s going to change my life.

Designed by Rethink for the Pastry Training Centre of Vancouver, it’s a pastry lesson printed on parchment paper – how genius is that? I love the cute illustrations and humorous tone of the recipe…even though it does actually say “Or Else” on step 3.

Brace yourself for the best part ever: the generous people at Rethink have a link that lets you download the poster for free!

A stack or roll of these would make the perfect Christmas gift for the foodie in your life (trust me. I’m the foodie in most of my friends’ lives) for the negligible cost of print fees and parchment paper. Then all you have to do is sit back and prepare yourself for the inevitable gush of gratitude and resulting gifts of homemade pies. Merry Christmas!
