How is it that the second I self-impose a shopping ban for the rest of the month I find a necklace that miraculously appeals to every facet of type-obsessed, fashion-loving, poetry-reading me?

While I admit the Vernon Lee one in the center is probably the most wearable, Machado, whose words feature in the necklace on the far right, has always had a special place in my heart since I discovered his beautiful poem Last Night As I Was Sleeping.

I can’t tell if what I’m feeling is my heart racing from a shopaholic adrenalin rush, or if all the credit cards in my purse are trembling. Could be both.
