There’s so much to love about this, I have no idea where to start. Paper sculptures. Hermes. Horses. I die.
I’ve posted about Hermes’ gorgeous window displays before – they sure do have a knack for making an impact with paper.
This time, they teamed up with Anna-Wili Highfield, a Sydney based artist known for her sculptures of animals made from cotton paper that’s painted and sewn together. The pegasus busts she did for Hermes are phenomenal: raw, textural and full of movement.
Not so into horses? Her website is definitely still worth a peek for her beautiful bird sculptures. I love her owls, but these two are just adorable – and so perfect for a curated office desk.
Also fantastic: her take on taxidermy. If you love taxidermy but can’t get over the ick factor, then maybe these paper birds in bell jars are just the thing for you.
If by this point you’re thinking what I’m thinking, you’ll probably find it useful to know that Anna-Wili only works by commission. I suggest contacting her directly to discuss your next acquisition!
