Well, not like that. I meant the Goods of Desire store – though getting there certainly was a bit of a pilgrimage. The nearest available car park was 500m (yes I google mapped it) from the mall. A bit of a hike in sky-high heels! (Have a look here if you don’t believe me)
Luckily for me, my ridiculously gentlemanly fiancé took one look at my shoes and struck up a deal with a passing rickshaw driver to be our chauffer for the evening. How charming is that? Had this been our first date I’m pretty sure I’d have proposed to him right then.
Anywho, back to GOD. If you aren’t familiar with the store, it’s a Hong Kong brand that is known for its riffs on everything quintessentially and nostalgically Chinese. Think about it as a store full of Chinese inside jokes. I kind of wanted everything.
Unfortunately we didn’t get to stay at the opening party for very long because we had dinner with my mother to get to, but I’ll definitely be going back to check it out sans crowds – and in flats – soon.
Store photos via His Style Diary. I would have taken my own but it was packed with people on opening night!
