The lovely Harper’s Bazaar Singapore team invited us to a really interesting presentation at this year’s SFW. 10 up-and-coming fashion designers from around Asia were chosen to present capsule collections before the audience and a panel of judges, with a winner being announced at the end. It felt like we were at a live taping of Project Runway!
Some collections were fantastically wearable, others were pure art. My personal favourite was the showing by Singaporean Lionel Low, which was based on the Chinese legend of Madam White Snake.
As for my own outfit, I went local with a tailored peplum top by In Good Company. I actually had a few different options picked out, but somehow my mother got involved and decided that this was The One. For the record, my deadpan response to every compliment at the show was “Thank you, my mother dressed me today…”
