In celebration of their 90th year in the business, Paris Vogue has just re-opened a very fashionable time capsule by uploading 50 of their archived covers.
These two, from 2004 of Kate Moss by David Sims and Sofia Coppola by Mario Testino, are my favrouites. The latter especially – I’m the least photogenic person I know, so I really should remember and perfect that face-half-hidden pose!
Here are some other striking covers – it’s so interesting to see certain similarities between the ‘thens’ on the left and ‘nows’ on the right. I guess fashion photography is just as cyclical as fashion itself! Can you spot the cover shot by Andy Warhol? Or Ms Vogue herself, Madonna?
