Though not itself a new addition to the SUQQU family, #06 Ginbudou is quite new to me. Adam surprised me with it on Christmas Eve by tucking it under my pillow. This man, he is a keeper.
Ginbudou is part of SUQQU’s older series of eyeshadow quads (#01-06) which still employed the ratio of 2 shimmers on top and 2 matte colours on the bottom in each combination. Ginbudou is comprised of a frosted nude, a shimmery silver, a dark matte plummy-purple and a matte white.
As with all SUQQU quads, the magic of Ginbudou materialises when you start mixing the colours together. Aside from the colours above, you can also create a beautiful taupe, a golden violet and a really gorgeous purple-silver “duochrome”. But I’ll get to that in my next post.
For this first look I thought I’d keep the colours pure, so to speak.
I went with a very classic placement: silver lightly all over the lid, the matte purple in the outer V, and the pale gold/nude concentrated in the inner V and also washed over everything to blend.
Stay tuned for the next instalment of this Ginbudou-fest, featuring a smokey look with that “duochrome” mix!
