Since we had a lazy Sunday planned and I didn’t want to be too sparkly, I thought I’d test Shiseido High Beam White“>High Beam White today. Compared to other highlighters, High Beam White“>High Beam White is quite muted, which makes it very unique. You can read my full review and see comparison swatches here.
I’d say its effect on my skin – an “oh, my skin just looks this good naturally” glow – equates most closely to the finish of a liquid highlighter. Where powder highlighters tend to be shimmery, frosty or both, this is beautifully subtle and the white base works very well on my pale skin.
I can definitely see myself reaching for this on days when I don’t want to look like I’m trying to hard with my makeup. It would also be great for someone who loved highlighters – or the idea of a pretty finishing touch – but worked in a conservative office.
