I’m definitely biased towards dramatic highlighters, so despite the rave reviews I read on Kevyn Aucoin’s The Celestial Powder in Candlelight, I was pretty sure that this subtle highlighter would fail to wow me.
Boy was I happy to be wrong!
You can read my full review here, but to sum it up Candlelight is by far the best powder product I’ve ever owned. The texture is so fine that it actually feels creamy to the touch, and unlike other powder highlighters this doesn’t have any shimmer particles whatsoever – all you see is a natural glow on skin.
Despite the fact that I wasn’t really in the market for a subtle highlighter, I’m very pleased with my purchase of Candlelight. Everything about it feels so luxurious that a glittery finish would have been incongruously jarring, and despite my bling-tastic preferences I can appreciate that. I envision this being part of my everyday makeup routine, and the highlighter I reach for long after I’m over highlighters.
I’ve been neglecting to list of the rest of the makeup I’m wearing in my Highlighter Chronicles, but I had to take a moment to mention this amazing lipstick I picked up the other day…for all of $0.99! If you’re interested, it’s Fuchsia with Blue Pearl by Wet ‘n’ Wild.
