review: suqqu 03 matsukasa

July 23, 2016

This summer has been all about the fuss-free makeup for me, so you can imagine how delighted I was to get my hands on SUQQU Blend Colour Eyeshadow 03 Matsukasa recently. In fact, I was so excited about it that I dipped into it without first taking product shots as I always do. Sigh. So please pardon these less-than pristine photos in this post…I honestly couldn’t help myself!

SUQQU 03 Matsukasa 1

This palette makes me very, very happy.

The photos however, make me cringe. Damn those scuffs!

SUQQU 03 Matsukasa 2

Consisting of a shimmering tan, burnished copper, warm dark brown and a matte nude, Matsukasa is currently the most all-round neutral palette I own from SUQQU.

Being one of their older quads, Matsukasa follows the template of 2 shimmery lid colours on top with 2 mattes below, one of which is dark for definition and the other nude/white/pastel to be used as a base and blending colour. In my opinion this is the quad that benefits most from that older 2 shimmer/2 matte format. I have found myself wishing the darkest colour in both Ginbudou and Keshizumi had more exciting finishes, but let’s be honest – everybody needs a good matte dark brown in their life.
