Beauty Face of the Day

fotd: scream collection

September 19, 2014

As promised, here’s the full look I did using Make Up Store’s Scream collection. I was going for something that would do justice to the intensity of the collection, but would still be a wearable evening look.

I’ve got to say I was really impressed with how well the colours of the Microshadows worked together considering they’re a mix of warm and cool shades. It’s hard to see in photos, but the effect was a dark, multilayered iridescence.

Although I’m not a professional, the complexity of the colour blend made it look like I really knew what I was doing, so I imagine this collection would be especially perfect for someone relatively new to doing coloured smokey eyes.

Because my goal was to create an overall look that could be easily worn by anyone, I went with nude, matte lips to balance things out. For the more daring, here’s what it looks like with (a thick layer of) LED Lipgloss in Atomic.

Singapore_Beauty_Blog_Screamlook1I must confess that I initially bought Atomic thinking I’d wear it with very simple eye makeup, but the all-over dark look is really growing on me. What do you prefer?

On my eyes, I used:

Microshadows in Attitude all over the lid, with Louder in the crease. I lined my eyes with a damp brush dipped into Watt, and also took it into the outer V of my lid as well just to deepen the colour there. Then I lined my bottom lashes with Lux Glitter Eyeliner, pulled the line upwards into a sparkly cat-eye shape. I chose to forgo fake lashes here so you could see the rich purple colour of the liner, but you could always thicken that line and add falsies for an even more dramatic look.
