A couple of days ago, I found myself without any work meetings to attend (and therefore without reason to look even remotely professional) so I thought I’d do a rainbow eye with the much-underused “brights” section of my makeup drawer. Et voilà:
Isn’t that fun?
The trick to this look is to use a very light-coloured primer or a white base on your lids so that the colours really stick and stay as saturated as possible.
Even though there’s quite a bit going on, it was surprisingly subtle when my eyes were all the way open. Teamed with a pale-neutral face and unfussy hair, I’ve got to admit it was a lot more wearable than I was expecting. I think this may just be the perfect day look for colour junkies!
I used:
Primer: Benefit Lemon Aid
Eyes, from inner to outer corners: Strike, Toxic, Coax, Betrayal, Madness and Prank, all from Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette (limited edition and unfortunately sold out on their site)
Lashes: Eyeko London Curvy Brush Mascara / Sephora Glitter Eyeliner + Mascara in Silver
Eyebrows: MAC Eye Shadow in Mystery
Skin: Bare Minerals Matte Foundation in Fair
Cheeks: the tinniest bit of Make Up Store Blush in Shimmer Dynasty
Lips: Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer mixed with Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
