Beauty Face of the Day

fotd: ombre cat eyes

I can’t believe it took me so long to realise this, but ombre cat eyes are totally a life hack. They look super dramatic and complicated – like you really know what you’re doing – but are an absolute cinch to do. Honest.

Just drip a damp angled brush in black eyeshadow and draw the outer points as evenly as possible on both sides. Then, using the same brush, carefully smudge inwards with more black eyeshadow.

Using on a small shadow brush, finish up by blending towards the middle of the lid with a nude eyeshadow. You don’t even have to be neat! Once I was done blending, I sharpened the outer lines with a Q-tip dipped in eye makeup remover.

And there you have it: fancy schmancy eye makeup using only TWO brushes and TWO eyeshadow colours. Try it for your next party or date night – you’ll be surprised at how easy it is!

Tips: I finished off with a fun purple lip, but the black-and-nude shadows are so neutral that you could literally pair this eye makeup look with any lip colour, dark or light. Be sure to use a shadow primer so your carefully-drawn lines don’t smear or crease during the day.
