fotd: plummy duochrome eyes

I’m honestly kicking myself for not thinking up this shadow combination sooner. I mean, does it get any better than purply-reds with a duochrome finish? No it does not.

Actually yes. Yes, it does.

Because on top of being beautiful, this look is super-duper easy.

Here’s a breakdown:

1. Draw a thick line above your lashes with Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic in ME-80 and tap with a finger to blend it upward onto your lids. It doesn’t have to be perfect.

2. Dampen a flat eyeshadow brush, and use it to press Inglot AMC Pure Pigment in #85 over your whole mobile lid.

3. Using a fluffy brush, buff a bit of Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow in M540 through the crease.

4. With the same brush, darken the outer Vs with Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow in M928 and blend it through the crease with a bit more of M540 if necessary.

5. Add a touch of M928 to the outer corner of your lower lash line, and finish with mascara (I used Lancome Hypnose Drama).

Easy, right? Just remember: the duochrome pigment is key. It adds a dimension that makes this look seem a lot more advanced than it is, and covers up and distracts from any blending missteps. Good luck, and if you ever recreate this I’d love to see it!
