Nothing says spring makeup to me like a face full of all pink errthang, and even though we don’t actually get seasons in Singapore I’ve found myself drawn to pink makeup even more than usual lately.
My favourite pink palette of the moment is probably SUQQU Designing Colour Eyes in 04 Ayanadeshiko. It has the ability to sheer out to a chiffon haze of pink (as per my review look, here) or build to up…well…this!
Paired with my favourite-ever SUQQU Lipstick, Creamy Glow Moist in EX-21 Sen Ka.
A friend of mine recently pointed out that, when at its full intensity, 04 Ayanadeshiko actually gives you more of a burgundy than a pink look. I’m on the fence about this because while I can definitely see what she means, the pink hues are quite distinctive to me when they catch the light. As with all SUQQU eyeshadows, you can really only appreciate their multi-dimensional nature in real life so please forgive me if these photos aren’t exactly backing up my claims.
I will say that now that I’ve played with it more, 04 Ayanadeshiko is definitely a palette that yields a warm pink finish despite its cooler in-pan appearance. Perhaps its warm undertones explain why I’m so drawn to it, since I have a tough time pulling of cool hues. I still wish this quad had a tiiiiiiiny bit more textural variation within its shades – a glittery topper would have made me so happy – but overall I think they are still gorgeous colours with a stunning combined effect (whether you see them as pink, red or burgundy!)
