Fuchsia is my go-to colour for bold lipstick. It never fails to brighten my face, and just seems to elevate even simple eye makeup like this look I did with Ardency Inn Copper, Urban Decay Smog and a flick of Bobbi Brown gel liner in Espresso.
This fuchsia beauty in particular is Kevyn Aucoin The Expert Lip Color in Jorjia. It had a slight satin finish to it, and excellent wear time – so much so that I’m surprised it didn’t dry my lips out at all. Usually, long-lasting formulas aren’t very good on me but this one turned out to be such a win that I’m considering going back for a couple more colours.
I only wish there were more colours that had this effect on my skin tone. I’ve been on the hunt for a complexion-brightening coral red for years, but considering how good it looks on tanned olive skin I have a sneaky suspicion I’m several shades too pale to pull it off! Not that that revelation is going to keep me from my search…but in the meantime, here are some of my favourite bright pinks:
