Beauty Face of the Day

fotd: new year’s eve makeup

January 2, 2015

I don’t normally wear silver eyeshadow, but New Year’s Eve seemed like the perfect occasion…even if we were just spending it over a quiet dinner at home. By the way, I’m so glad Adam took these photos before I started cooking, because I ended up getting yucky in the kitchen, pinning back my hair and then changing!

Anyway, since I was helping out with dinner, I didn’t have too much time to spend on makeup. Thankfully, this look is as easy as it is glamorous.

I started by patting silver all over my lids, and into the inner V of my eyes. Then, I smudged in some black eyeshadow on both the outer and inner corners of my top lid to add dimension. All it took was winged liner and red lips finished the look…what a snap!

Speaking of red lips, mine didn’t last long at dinner. I blame my mother’s good cooking – her duck confit was just phenomenal (and I daresay the sides I contributed were pretty darned good too). Just looking at this is making me hungry again.

It’s usually impossible for me to eat myself into a food coma while on Keto, but I came dangerously close with this meal. All in all, not a bad way to ring in 2015!
