I love horizontal gradient smokey eyes. In my opinion it’s actually one of the better shadow placements for monolid and hooded eyes (like mine), but in general it’s flattering on just about everyone.

For this specific look, I used my Costal Scents Revealed palette as well as MAC eyeshadow in Brown Script – which is that beautiful reddish brown colour you see in the crease. You can dramatize this look by using darker colours all over and taking the shadow under the eyes as well – like I did here – or even soften the look further with lighter hues if you like. I’m mildly allergic to light eyeshadow, but I’m itching to try this in a light gradient of taupe, rose gold and champagne next.

Face: Innisfree Anti-Trouble BB Cream, Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, Too Faced Primed and Poreless Loose Powder

I love this shadow placement! I find that when I go too high on my eyelid I can look kind of surprised or gaunt which isn’t exactly what I want from my makeup! Beautiful look!
