Today’s challenge was to use just one eyeshadow, and boy was it a challenge for me! I’m the kind of person who regularly blends 5 different eyeshadows into a single colour that I already own, and then lies to herself about how different it looks. Not today.
Because I didn’t want it to look flat, I chose a metallic taupe (3rd from the bottom left in my Coastal Scents Revealed Palette palette) that would reflect light differently on different parts of my eye – brighter on the lid and darker in the shadows of my brow bone.
To get the intense metallic colour on my lid, I first applied the eyshadow wet, patting it on with a dense damp brush. Then I took the same colour and used it dry to blend out the edges with a fluffy crease brush.
I’m not sure I’ll have the restraint to do this ever again – I love playing with different eyeshadows too much! – but using a single metallic colour wet and dry is a pretty good trick for creating a glam look in a hurry. With a flick of eyeliner, I think this would have been the easiest evening look ever.
