Beauty Face of the Day

10-day makeup challenge: day 3

February 21, 2015

Today was all about blush, which was really a challenge for me because it’s really not something I’m very good with. My face is naturally more pink than the rest of me, so blush is something that’s always been a bit iffy on my face. In fact, until very recently I only owned one blush: Bare Minerals in Lovely, which I’d use super sparingly (if at all).

I’ve been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone lately, so this was a fun experiment.

I started with a cream blush, blended out with a brush. It looked suitably pink to me, but clearly I have no gauge on this whatsoever because it failed to show up in any of the test shots I took with my phone.

I ended up heaping powdered blush on over top to intensify the hue, and was genuinely surprised at how much I needed to apply for it to show up in photos. Now I understand why I’ve never finished a blush in my life!
